“Love is in the Air” …well at least we hope it is and nothing says “I care” like a romantic getaway. Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning how to pamper your significant other this February 14th.
As your trusted travel advisors, were here to help you make sure your loved one is rewarded for putting up with your quarantine shenanigans, overlooking the COVID-15 LBS you may have tacked on, and most of all, that the both of you have a memorable romantic getaway.
We all continue to navigate the waters of a pandemic and it’s important to take the different levels of comfort regarding travel into consideration. We’re here to share some recommendations on both Domestic and Caribbean destinations that are available to all US tourists.
What to do:
Savannah, Georgia has been the background for countless couple’s getaways and would make the ideal destination this February. This southern gem of a city is home to great hotels, amazing cuisine, and plenty of outdoor activities.
Where to Stay:
We recommend the Perry Lane Hotel while staying in Savannah. This beautiful Luxury hotel offers incredible onsite restaurant options, including a stunning rooftop bar. The rooftop is the perfect place to share a glass of vino and take in Georgia’s golden sunsets with a bird’s eye view of historic Savannah. The Perry Lane Hotel just steps away from the Broughton Street retail corridor, the Savannah Riverwalk, and Forsyth Park. A stroll in this unique neighborhood will make for a picturesque “lover’s lane” that will be sure to create memories, and amazing photo backdrops, that will last years to come.
Pro Tip: Pack your sneakers and explore the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens. It is only a short 15 min cab ride from the Perry Lane Hotel and is deemed as a local favorite.
Sedona, Arizona is the ideal location for the more active couples. Though all of Arizona is beautiful, the views in Sedona are second to none. Hikes, local music, and world class spas are found in abundance in this exceptional dessert destination.
Where to Stay:
We recommend L’Auberge de Sedona & Enchantment Resort. These two luxury hotels are less than nine miles away from one another and both offer an incredible spa, dining, and resort experiences.
Pro Tip: Pack your hiking boots and check out Airport Mesa, Devil’s Bridge Trailhead, Cathedral Rock Trailhead, or Red Rock State Park. All of these prime hiking spots are secluded and we do recommend you rent a car if you decide you want to bask in Mother Nature’s rocky backyard.
Caribbean Travel:
These chairs are calling your name in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico. If you are craving the tranquility of sand and sun for your getaway, there is no other beach quite like this one. Located 21 miles west of San Juan, Dorado Beach is home to the most luxurious resorts in the Caribbean.
Where to stay? We highly recommend The Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton Reserve. This award-winning private island oasis will knock you off your feet, and right into the crystal waters. Check into your own Villa, call your Ambassador and hop on your bikes, delivered right to your door with ice cold bottled waters of course, and explore the magnificent 1,400 acre estate. Book your couples treehouse massage in the truly luxurious sanctuary of Spa Botanico, enjoy multiple dining options, pools and sea and land excursions.
Pro Tip: Add a bit of thrill to your trip and visit Toro Verde Nature Adventure Park. Located in the mountains at the center of the island, the park is home to “The Monster”, a 2.5-kilometer zip line that is one of the longest in the entire world. The breathtaking views you will experience flying beneath you are unforgettable.
One of the most romantic Caribbean getaways by far is waiting for you in Saint Lucia.
This Eastern Caribbean island is home to the stunning Piton mountains, volcanic beaches, rainforests, reefs, and waterfalls. Most visitors find themselves reluctant to leave and eager to return.
Where to stay? We recommend booking your majestic sanctuary at Jade Mountain. This resort’s one-of-a-kind organic architecture includes suspended sky bridges, private infinity pools overlooking the Pitons, and open-air suites that make you feel like you are floating in the sky. Enjoy the all-inclusive exclusivity and privacy of Jade Mountain dining, spa and beach as well as access to its sister hotels restaurants, bars, boutiques, art gallery, spa, scuba, bike and watersports.
Pro Tips: Be sure to schedule a private in-room dining experience during your stay, you will not regret staying in. The Chef will happily prepare anything special you desire, as long as they have advance notice to procure the ingredients of course. Make sure you take the trip down to the mountain and explore the Volcano, Diamond Falls & Gardens. For an even more romantic experience, upgrade to the private tour and add on the mud bath, have some fun while soaking in those minerals you can’t buy at home.
