A little over two hours east of New York City and out over the Atlantic Ocean, sits a slice of Long Island that has been dubbed- “The End”. Montauk Long Island is home to pristine beaches, wooded preserves, world-class restaurants, and one of our favorite hotels – Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa.
What to do:
Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is a stunning property that features 2,000 sq. ft of private beach (plenty of room for Social Distancing in the sun!), multiple dining outlets offering unique and seasonal presentations, and a spa that hosts an ocean-fed healing pool. While disconnecting and relaxing, be sure to keep an eye out for exciting programming and pop-ups, such as a celebrity hairstylist or a fashion activation, with brands including Jimmy Choo, Maje, and Sandro. You really can’t go wrong when selecting your room category as each one features an Ocean View- from the Standard King, all the way on up to the Deluxe Three Bedroom Cottage. The Indigenous room decor of the rooms and hotel will allow you to immerse yourself in the salacious and hip vibe before you even step foot in the sand.
This small town does have a lot to do and see, but it is the relaxed atmosphere that is contagious and will make your feel right at home.
Montauk offers the feeling of being so far removed from everything, that minutes after arriving you can feel a relaxing sense of calm. In a fast-paced world, this small town seems to operate a bit slower than most, but that does not mean there is a lack of things to do. Perched at the very end of the island, The Montauk Light House not only serves as a nod to the area’s amazing history but allows for stunning views.
Hither Hills State Park offers expansive beaches, grills, playgrounds, and friendly locals. Bring your boots and enjoy a nice walk along the cliffs near Amsterdam Beach. End your day by enjoying a glass of wine or two- while watching the sunset at “The Montauket”, while enjoying their famous crab legs.
